Bigfork Valley to host NFL Punt, Pass & Kick Competition
Young pro football fans ages 6-15 will have the opportunity to compete in the NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition on the Bigfork School athletic fields two blocks east of Main Street in Bigfork on Saturday, August 13 from 9 a.m. – noon. The official competition is free and hosted by Bigfork Valley Hospital.
Entry forms are available online at www.NFLppk.com or on the day of the competition. A parent’s signature and evidence of birth date (birth certificate) is required. A copy of the birth certificate must be brought to the competition and will be forwarded with winner’s information. Age classification is of December 31, 2011. Cleats are not allowed. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and closes at 10 a.m. For more competition information, call Matt at (218) 743-4122.
Kids ages 5-12 may also enter the Bigfork Valley Kids Challenge which is run concurrently. This event is free and allows kids to compete for ribbons and trophies in soccer kick, foot races, basketball hoops, long jump, softball throw, Frisbee throw and hockey shoot. Concessions are available. An awards ceremony will follow at about 12:30 p.m.
About NFL Punt, Pass, and Kick
The NFL Punt, Pass, & Kick football competition allows youngsters to showcase their talents in punting, passing and kicking with scores based on distance and accuracy. The top finishers from each of ten age groups at the local competition will advance to a Sectional competition. The winners at the Sectional competition will have their scores compared to other Sectional champions; the top four scorers from the pool of Sectional champions will advance to the Minnnesota Vikings Team Championship.
Age-group champions at this level will be declared NFL Punt, Pass, & Kick Team Champions. The top four finishers in the boys’ and girls’ divisions within each age bracket (6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15) from the pool of all Team Champions will qualify for the National Finals at an NFL playoff game in January.
The National NFL Punt, Pass, and Kick competition is administered by NFL Properties LLC. This local Punt, Pass, and Kick (Local PPK) competition is officially licensed by NFL Properties LLC, but none of the National Football League (NFL), its member clubs, NFL Ventures, L.P. or any of their respective affiliates or subsidiaries are sponsoring or operating the Local PPK or will have any liability or responsibility for any claims arising in connection with participation in the Local PPK.
