Itasca County to Celebrate National County Government Month
April 16, 2013
Grand Rapids, MN – Itasca County will celebrate National County Government Month (NCGM) during the month of April to highlight specific programs and services provided by Itasca County and to raise public awareness regarding the roles and responsibilities of county government. Itasca County is one of 3,068 counties nationwide offering services to over 300 million people. The theme for this year’s celebration of NCGM is “Smart Justice: Creating Safer Communities.” Itasca County’s featured NCGM events include:
Coffee with the County on April 18th from 6 to 8 pm in Carpenter Town Hall
Travelling Board meetings: the April 23rd regularly scheduled Health and Human Services Board and April 23rd regular scheduled County Board Meeting will be held in Nashwauk at the Nashwauk City Hall. Health and Human Services Board starts at 2 pm and County Board at 3 pm. Essar Steel and Magnetation will both be giving presentations at this meeting.
Tours of the Itasca County Courthouse and other County facilities
An OPEN HOUSE event on Tuesday, April 30 which will showcase all essential county programs and services, highlighting our Smart Justice System.
“Itasca County is proud of the programs and services we provide to the public,” said Commissioner Rusty Eichorn. “We want to make government as transparent and as accessible to the public as possible,” added Commissioner Terry Snyder. Board Chair Mark Mandich “invites all county residents to take advantage of National County Government Month outreach events to learn more about your government.”
