The Itasca County Sheriff’s Department / Emergency Management is asking for help from the media for the next week and a half in promoting our new CodeRED Emergency Notification system for the county.


The idea is to get the information / facts out to the residences of Itasca County because on Friday April 12th around 0100 pm we will be kicking off the test alert.


This kick off test reaches approx. 22000 residence. 


Attached is some supporting documentation and a link to the Sheriff’s Department web site were residences can Enroll. “CodeRED Community Notification Enrollment”


The CodeRED Emergency Notification system provides both city and county officials the ability to quickly deliver messages to targeted areas or the entire county.


If you are not sure that you are included in the database, simply log onto the County of Itasca's website, http://www.co.itasca.mn.us/Home/Departments/Sheriff's/Pages/default.aspx and follow the link to the "CodeRED Community Notification Enrollment" page.


It is recommended that all businesses register, as well as all individuals who have unlisted phone numbers, who have changed their phone number or address within the past year, and those who use a cellular phone or VoIP phone as their primary number. Those without Internet access may call Itasca County Emergency Management Coordinator at 218-327-7483, Monday through Friday, (8AM-4PM) to supply their information over the phone.
