Do the Math - 07/29/2011

Why is it that all of the politicians play games with our lives and we let them. Are we so complacent we accept whatever? It's not rocket science but they all need us to think it is, so we don't do the simple math.

If you have one hundred dollars you cannot spend one hundred and fifty dollars. It doesn't matter what you want to spend it on, it doesn't matter how valiant and worthwhile it is. You cannot borrow the fifty dollars you need so you can spend one hundred fifty and not have to pay it back at some point in time. No one will loan you any money without some semblence of a thought that you will pay it back, and that you have the means to do so.

The American people are electing more and more politicians who don't want to spend money because they are tired of being over taxed. The more you tax, the more people who are against taxes will finally get off their complacent butts and elect those who say "no more taxes". Hence you have the scenario you have now.

If the United States of America defaults and their credit is downgraded, our personal credit will also be downgraded, after all, we are the United States of America. Once downgraded, it will take a lot more to bring it back up. If you had money, would you loan it to Congress or the President? Tell me why it's okay to let people starve, including Americans, but it is not okay to stop giving money to countries or groups that hate our guts.

I don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure this out, do you? Do you have to elect somebody who is a rocket scientist, or can you figure it out? Maybe you want to wait and see if either your party or the President is right in blaming one of the other entities. That's how we got where we are now.
