Construction news at Bigfork Valley

The landscape is changing around Bigfork Valley.

Spaces have been cleared to the south, east and west on the health care campus to prepare for future construction.

It’s a vision that the hospital’s board of trustees has been working on for a long time: to develop Bigfork Valley as an integral part of the community – a good place to live as we grow older and a place to gather and participate in healthy activities.

Commons area

This year the start of construction is planned for a Commons area in the main facility and senior living twin homes on the Big Fork River adjacent to the hospital. The Commons area will include an expanded 24 hour fitness center, including changing and locker room areas. The fitness center is open to public membership, with discounted rates for those living in the hospital district.

Also included will be an expanded outpatient pharmacy, and new dietary kitchen and serving areas.

A separate project in the next few months will remodel the hospital admissions area to allow for increased privacy.

Senior living

A new option for senior independent living will be the twin home development along the Big Fork River. With easy access to quality health care and in a lovely riverfront setting, the homes are designed for comfortable living for those 55 and over. Each duplex home will have three bedrooms, two baths, fireplace, deck and large garage. One bedroom is convertible to a four season porch. Lawn maintenance, snow plowing and normal repairs will be included in the rental for worry free living.

Future Capital Campaigns

Two capital campaigns will focus on additional community needs. We are increasingly aware of the need to provide more safe and desirable places for senior living with services and memory care. The independent Bigfork Valley Foundation will announce a campaign soon to provide funds for a new assisted living facility and memory homes.

A second campaign through the foundation will focus on a fitness pool for lap swimming and rehabilitation.
